My big question presention

My big question was why do people judge others, I did my presentation on prezi & I started off my asking if judge could be a good & a bad thing. In a way it is a good thing because of constructive criticism but it becomes bad when you add racism & materialism. For example when you go shopping you have to decide between things to get the best deal or what is better for you, that idea was giving to me by Dr. Preston. Judgement is a bad thing when it's about judging other based on what they're wearing, own & their skin color. Although many claim to not judge it just comes across people's minds without even knowing that is because while growing up you do as everyone in your house does. Social media was a lot to do with judgement since it's so easy to post a picture then other send it to their friends & talk shit for whatever reason, all because it doesn't seem so bad while you're doing it. Just remember that uncomfortable moment when you can tell...

Fahrenheit 451 essay

All people have their own and different attitudes and way of thinking, but Clarisse and Beatty are by far the most different i know. They both have a completely different way of seeing things. Ray Bradbury uses tone and diction to get the reader to understand how each of the characters is and thinks is. Beatty is more strict and goes by the rules that others in the past have imposed just because he thinks its right and doesn't wonder if there is another way of doing things. On the other hand Clarisse is very curious of how things happen and why.    The way the author uses diction and tone to describe Beatty is by making Beatty seem mean and ignorant about others beliefs and opinions. when Beatty goes to visit Montag when he is sick Mildred does everything he tells her to do very fast as if he would do something to her if she didn't. Also the way Ray Bradbury phrases him makes him sound very demanding and rude. When he talks about Clarisse in very bad ways it helps...

Fahrenheit 451 questions

1. In the book Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury starts the novel by saying " It was a pleasure to born " because to them its easier to burn them instead of reading and learning new things. 2. The birds are compared to books because he wanted to show symbolism. 3. The difference between Montag and Clarisse's is that she is very curious and wants to learn new things and Montag is more quiet and doesn't believe in new ideas. 4. In the novel Montag technology is similar to ours because the seashells are headphones. To them they weren't liking it because he didn't trust it. 5. The narrator introduces Montag when he meets Clarisse because it shows the different ways of living they have which gives the reader some idea of why the wife would try to kill herself. 6 The author introduces Clarisse before Mildred so the reader understands how different their lives were. 7. All the houses are fireproof because so they won't need firefighters. 8.  Mildred needed serv...

The choices we make  are very important because they don't only affect you but also everyone around you. Sometimes you may think that the littlest choices don't matter but when they all start adding up they might turn out to be the ones that have the biggest impact on you. For example, you probably don't think that not doing your homework is a big choice but every time you think to yourself  " oh its just one it won't affect my grade ",  all the assignments start adding up and by the end your grade will have changed so fast when you thought it wasn't such a big deal. All choices lead to actions and those actions will determine how your future will be. When making a choice you have to take your time and  think it through, always think of how it may affect you and  even the ones around you not just in the present but also in the future. No matter what the outcome is good or bad, know that everything you overcome makes you a stronger wiser person.

emerson the young buck

From reading self reliance i have learned to always follow your own ideas not what others want you to think. No matter what people think or might say to you, you should never want to change just to fit in because being yourself is always better.

respect my authority

One example of authorities threatening me to not be myself is the principals, security, and teachers for dress code. They don't let us wear what we want. Just for wearing a tank top or a strapless shirt they send us to the office to change instead of letting us stay in class and learn. I doubt our shoulders will distract the teachers from teaching or even any other student. But by taking us out of class to go change they're taking away time that we could be during our work just for showing shoulder. An example of an authority letting me being my best self is a teacher or parent who will always encourage you to do your best and one who has hope that you will succeed.

I was surprised when i saw that i got a B- because i honestly didn't understand the stories. I think i got a B- because i didn't just make things and i actually added good details. At first i didn't think i deserved that grade but once i started to think about it i agreed that i deserved a B- because i tried, compared the theme and tone of the two stories, and used evidence from the story. I didn't get a good grade on my vocabulary test but i have some post on my blog and i do my journals. I think i deserve a C because i may not do all the work but i do some and i try.
